Frequently Asked Questions
What can we do on a rainy day?
Whilst we’d all like to believe the weather in Cornwall matches its Mediterranean beaches, sadly, that’s not always the case. A rainy day or two on your Great British staycation is expected. It’s part of what makes it British. We never let a bit of rain dampen our spirits. If the skies darken when you’re in North Cornwall, you’ll find there’s lots of family friendly, rainy day activities in and around the local area: a day trip to the picturesque villages of Clovelly, Boscastle, Tintagel or Port Isaac are all short drives away and well worth a visit. A little further, but well worth the drive, you’ll find the Eden Project. Closer to Marhamchurch, the local nature centre at The Wier is a short walk in wellingtons - and offers a very good breakfast!
Can we bring our dog?
We are happy to host one well-behaved dog at The Salt Box, but would ask that you respect our house rules that they remain downstairs and do not go on the furniture. Please clean up after your dog and be mindful of future guests - thank you!
The Bullers Arms in the village is a dog-friendly pub, and you’ll find that most places in and around Bude are. The beaches have restrictions on dogs however from Easter to September - do please check before you visit!
